DevOps Lead Job Description

Gerent is looking for a DevOps Lead who will be responsible for managing Salesforce Application Releases using Changeset, ANT, CI/CD, Copado, Gearset, Jenkins, SFDX Second Generation Packaging. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Manage Salesforce Application Releases using Changeset, CI/CD, Copado, Gearset, Jenkins, SFDX Second Generation Packaging

  • Manage, design and build the deployment pipelines

  • Monitor automated jobs and fix issues as they arise

  • Plan and execute scheduled releases for multiple client instances through automation

  • Participate in release notes creation

  • Manage git repos with the dev team and help them merge/deploy and resolve any conflicts

  • Keep consistency between client Salesforce sandbox environments

  • Ensure high levels of security, availability, and performance of the Salesforce platform

  • Perform regular data backups and disaster recovery testing to ensure business continuity

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest Salesforce features and trends, and apply them to improve the platform and processes

What we’re looking for:


  • 2+ years of experience working in Salesforce Release Manager Role or DevOps Role

  • At least 2 years of experience in Salesforce development and administration

  • Salesforce Admin Certified, Salesforce Certified Development Lifecycle, and Deployment Designer Certification preferred.

  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles, including continuous integration and deployment, source control management, and testing

  • Experience in Agile development practices (Kanban or Scrum)

  • Ability to see opportunities for improvement, take ownership and work closely with others to drive operational improvement

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Knowledge of Salesforce security and governance best practices

  • Experience with version control tools such as Git and build tools such as Jenkins

  • People leadership — Must have demonstrated leadership skills in developing and growing long term, high value client relationships

  • Teamwork — Ability to effectively team with peers in a large, matrixed organizations, including significant experience with off-shore teams and delivery

  • Client focus — Must apply a client-centric mindset and ensure that all projects keep clients’ stated needs and goals top of mind.  

  • Accountability — Must be willing to take ownership of and responsibility for clients success

  • Communication and presentation skills — Must present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Innovation, creativity, and problem-solving —  Should be willing to think outside the box when confronting project challenges, building out practice assets and defining methods to train delivery resources. 

  • Strategy - Must be able to lay out a strategy or roadmap for clients onboarding or amidst a digital transformation anchored in Financial Services use cases
