HLS Director of Delivery

Role Overview

Gerent is on the lookout for a Director of Delivery who can help our fast-expanding Delivery team to empower enterprise HLS clients through a digital transformation leveraging Salesforce. As a Director of Delivery, you will be responsible for the overall strategy, performance and growth of the Delivery team and Offerings for Gerent. You will report to the SVP of Delivery with a dotted line to the SVP of HLS, and work with delivery team members. In the role, you will also focus on driving the delivery every day; serving as the face of delivery both internally and externally for Gerent, manage capability and capacity, and own relationships with  customers and Salesforce.

*We are looking for Delivery Leaders with various degrees of experience at this time. Actual responsibilities and qualifications may vary slightly based on the level at which a candidate is hired. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Will be assigned a portfolio of HLS projects where the delivery directors will be the accountable and responsible for quality of delivery
  • Designated to be the first line of escalation on delivery issues and will be responsible to work with the project managers on issue resolution and risk mitigation
  • Act as the customer success manager for the assigned portfolio of the projects and work with the SVP of delivery on account planning and account expansion opportunities
  • Manage multiple project implementations. Assist with the planning, tracking, documentation and status updates for the projects. 
  • Provide weekly status updates to the leadership team on the portfolio of the projects; Develop the status reporting tools and standardize on the delivery process working closely with the PM COE leader
  • Exercise solid project leadership skills combined with strong business acumen and in-depth analytic skills. 
  • Coach and mentor consultants in  requirements gathering and assist with the creation of project deliverables, as needed. 
  • Define and Manage the stage gate reviews during the projects to meet the compliance standards that are established.

  • Responsible for managing the programs as outlined in the SOW and mitigating the risk. In the case of any deviations from the original SOW, PMs are responsible for working with the delivery leadership to raise the appropriate Change Orders. Delivery Directors act as the escalation points to any delivery issues that may arise

  • Adopt and adhere to a standardized development lifecycle methodology for all projects.

  • Direct end to end implementation planning including project management, issue management, communication and change management. 

  • Establish and maintain trusted advisor relationships with client project stakeholders by providing vision and future product roadmapping.

  • Work well with customers, internal technology and product teams to articulate issues and communicate effectively 

  • Manage and mentor business and technical resources and assist in building delivery methods, tools and templates

Where applicable you will: 

  • Experience implementing multiple Small, Medium and Enterprise scale Salesforce solutions 
  • Multiple Salesforce.com Certifications (Admin, Consultant, Developer, Architect) 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with direct responsibility for managing project managers, technical and non-technical resources, budget and schedule. 

  • Demonstrated HLS Project/Program management skills with teams of varying size. 

  • Demonstrated history of delivering high quality results on schedule and within budget. 
  • Outstanding and effective interpersonal skills; along with strong communication skills both verbal and written. 

  • Ability to weigh business and technical requirements to produce project plans and estimates. 
  • Extensive external consulting experience, including CRM consulting; and hands-on experience with Salesforce. 

  • Ability to manage and mentor business and technical resources
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high energy, team-oriented environment. 
  • Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure. 
  • PMP Certification highly preferred

What we’re looking for:


  • University degree or college diploma in Business Administration and/or Project Management (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Salesforce certifications: Admin


  • 8+ years of experience leading enterprise-wide  transformation programs
  • 5 + years consulting experience, preferred
  • CRM consulting experience, preferred

Technical competencies:

  • Practical experience in one or more CRM software products (e.g., Salesforce, Siebel, Oracle, Clarify, Vantive, PeopleSoft, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies

Soft skills:

  • People leadership — Experience managing stakeholder relationships and influence senior executives across an organization.
  • Teamwork — Must collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical team members during projects.  Ability to problem-solve and manage conflict.
  • Client focus — Must apply a client-centric mindset and ensure that all projects keep clients’ stated needs and goals top of mind.  
  • Accountability — Must be willing to take ownership of and responsibility for their customers project success.
  • Communication and Organizational skills — Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Innovation, creativity, and problem-solving —  Should be willing to think outside the box when confronting project challenges, building out practice assets and defining methods to train delivery resources. 
  • Creativity - Must be able to research and/or create methods of engaging people to drive change.
