Outlined below are the responsibilities and qualifications that are typically expected of our Consultants. The actual responsibilities and qualifications may vary slightly based on the experience and the level at which a candidate may get hired.
Marketing Cloud Consultants will join the Delivery team at Gerent who shares our vision of bringing the power of cloud computing to enterprises. Marketing Cloud Consultants are experienced professionals on our project teams accountable for understanding the overall solution design, responsible for understanding use cases and requirements, responsible for building out the declarative aspects of the solution, accountable for writing technical tickets and authoring supporting documentation. They work closely with various technical and non-technical team members, across complex, enterprise and strategic projects.
They are experienced in Salesforce Marketing Cloud products and can complete out of the box configurations. They are keenly interested in understanding our customers' business, have a deep curiosity and can explore the “why” behind how our customers work. They possess strong business analysis skills, take an empathetic approach to requirements gathering and facilitate customer workshops. The solution consultant partners with the solution architect, when needed to ensure proposed or built solutions will drive the desired business outcomes. For smaller projects the Marketing Cloud Consultant takes full ownership of the solution design. They are in relentless pursuit of ensuring we deliver value for customers.
The Marketing Cloud Consultant will have the opportunity to grow into a Solution Architect, Delivery Leader or Industry Leader. Gerent pays for all the examination vouchers for any Salesforce certifications and ensures you have the time to prepare and pass the certification exams.

What you’ll do:
Design and manage the implementation of Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions that meet business requirements for small to midsize projects
Create build tickets for implementation detailing the technical requirements to meet the user story acceptance criteria
Assist with client sessions to gather, define, and document business requirements, where needed
Refine implementation estimates and plans for phases of the delivery lifecycle, including development, testing, training, communication, deployment, and post-production support
Document requirements in the form of user stories
Demonstrate solution functionality to business stakeholders as needed
Assist in end-user acceptance testing by developing the test cases and the acceptance criteria
Lead knowledge sharing sessions with the client and provide the user documentation required for supporting the system in the future
Present solution options to customer, evaluating the pros and cons of declarative configuration against code and customization
Perform impact analysis for scope change requests, document changes to requirements, configuration, and data mapping
Participate in declarative system configuration when necessary
Provide technical and functional expertise to project teams
Participate in training content development and Administrator and end-user training delivery
Complete 2 Partner Learning Camp/Salesforce Certification(s) on the following within 12 months of joining:
Marketing Cloud Consultant
Interaction Studio Accredited Professional
Salesforce CDP Accredited Professional
Datorama Associate
What we’re looking for:
Experience
Minimum of 2+ years of platform experience utilizing Salesforce Marketing Cloud core products
Experience with Interaction Studio, Datorama or Salesforce CDP is a strong plus
Marketing Cloud Email Specialist and Marketing Cloud Administrator certifications
Knowledge of technical languages used in SFMC: SSJS, AMPScript, SQL, HTML and CSS
Strong application design skills combined with strong data, integration, and security architecture skills
Strong presentation skills to effectively present to a variety of audiences
Demonstrate digital marketing expertise and knowledge of the wider marketing technology ecosystem
Experience in delivering projects using Agile-based methodologies
Open to occasional travel
Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and/or Information Technology (or equivalent experience).
Salesforce Administrator Certification
At least three Salesforce Marketing Cloud Certifications (Marketing Cloud Administrator, Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, Marketing Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Developer, Interaction Studio Accredited Professional, Salesforce CDP Accredited Professional, Datorama Associate)
Relevant Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or similar digital marketing platform) development experience
2+ years’ experience working with an RDBMS such as MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server
1+ years’ experience with HTML, XML, CSS and JavaScript
1+ years’ experience with SOAP APIs, REST APIs and integration techniques
Familiarity with security standards such as TLS, SSL, SSO and data encryption
Ability to communicate best practices at various levels within an organization
Soft skills:
People leadership — Must have demonstrated leadership skills in developing and growing long term, high value client relationships
Teamwork — Ability to effectively team with peers in large, matrixed organizations, including significant experience with off-shore teams and delivery.
Client focus — Must apply a client-centric mindset and ensure that all projects keep clients’ stated needs and goals top of mind.
Accountability — Must be willing to take ownership of and responsibility for their customers project success.
Communication and Organizational skills — Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Innovation, creativity, and problem-solving — Should be willing to think outside the box when confronting project challenges, building out practice assets and defining methods to train delivery resources. Strong (and creative!) problem-solving and analytical skills
