Role Overview

What we’re looking for:

  • Passion for people, collaboration, authentic, and unafraid to learn from mistakes. 

  • Excel in the fail-fast and continuous improvement methodologies  

  • 5+ years of experience in IT, security or network systems, server management support, or network administrator positions preferred

  • Advanced experience with Windows Server, virtualization, AWS, SaaS/Cloud platforms (Salesforce), CRM, networking concepts, architecture, perimeter security, vulnerability tests, and protocols

  • Advanced experience of Google Workspace, O365, Mac/IOS, Android, Windows desktop OS, or any typical end-user technologies

  • IT industry-specific credentials/designations a plus (Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, Amazon, VMware, CISCO, ITIL, etc.)

  • Advanced experience in the following: Cisco products, Network Assessment Tools, virtualization, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Active Directory, routing, switching, VPN, and firewall environment

  • CRM (Salesforce) & ticketing systems (Service Cloud, ServiceNow, Zendesk, etc.) experience a plus. Salesforce admin experience is a huge plus

  • Experience with ITIL, incident management, and problem management

  • Ability to utilize multiple resources to determine root causes and resolutions of technology problems and incidents

  • Additional certifications are preferred, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), CompTIA Network+

  • Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer

Riverstrong is on the lookout for driven Senior Network Specialists who possess the grit and energy to help us grow in a start-up environment wearing many hats. The ideal candidate will show technical leadership and consult on various technologies while ensuring excellence is delivered throughout the customer engagement and IT solution implementation lifecycle. You will help drive the adoption of new technologies and look for service opportunities with existing customers when opportunities arise. You are an experienced senior technology engineer in the IT Managed Services Provider industry with a record of happy clients and successful implementations. 

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain technology infrastructures as a senior technology SME in an MSP environment

  • Develop documentation, knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, best practices, processes, templates, protocols, and training assets

  • Collaborate with other senior specialists to set the career path, training plans, certification path, and excellence standards of the technical competencies

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff members by helping them achieve career goals

  • Configure, monitor, backup, secure, and maintain routers, switches, DNS servers, and other network devices

  • Build, troubleshoot, migrate, and maintain physical or virtual server infrastructures hosted on-prem or cloud with Active Directory domains

  • Run regular vulnerability and backup tests to assess the security of client infrastructures 

  • Architecture, engineering, implementation, and troubleshooting of networks, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, etc., and infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory, servers, VM, AWS, Azure, Windows OS, Data Center, SaaS platforms, etc

  • Seek ways to create efficiencies by utilizing technologies in automation tools or scripting of services

  • Ensure redundancy, availability, and security of networks or server infrastructure from vulnerabilities  

  • Keep current on the latest technologies innovations and determine the best investments for the business and our clients

  • Create a positive experience for our customers and staff in all engagements

What you’ll do: 

The path to success in this role will include a passion for helping people in need, the ability to multitask, collaborate, work with a team, attention to detail, technical competencies as a senior IT SME. This role will be working closely with Riverstrong leaders to build excellence and mentorship in the technical team. You will define the best practice processes and will research and develop the next generation tools to achieve efficiency while making our lives easier.
