Sr Network Specialist

Role Overview

  • Exceptional customer service, great phone presence, ability to deal with all levels of users in a professional manner

  • Must be friendly and able to smile a lot while working in tough situations

  • Ability to lead and/or follow others in resolving customer requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IT, security or network systems, server management support, or network administrator positions preferred.

  • Able to establish credibility and communicate effectively with executives of all levels with fluency in verbal and written communications skills

  • Problem-solving and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical end-users

  • Advanced experience of Windows Server, virtualization, AWS, SaaS/Cloud platforms (Salesforce), CRM, networking concepts, and protocols

  • Advanced experience of Google Workspace, O365, Mac/IOS, Android, Windows desktop OS, or any typical end-user technologies

  • Team player with a strong work ethic operating with a sense of urgency and understanding

  • Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer

  • Minimal travel for high profile client or team meetings

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Passion for people, collaboration, authentic, and unafraid to learn from mistakes

  • IT industry-specific credentials/designations a plus (Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, Amazon, VMware, CISCO, ITIL, etc.)

  • CRM (Salesforce) & ticketing systems (Service Cloud, ServiceNow, Zendesk, etc.) experience a plus

  • Salesforce admin experience is a huge plus

  • Experience with ITIL, incident management, and problem management

  • Ability to utilize multiple resources to determine root causes and resolutions of technology problems and incidents

  • Additional certifications preferred, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), CompTIA Network+

  • Familiarity with any of the following: Cisco products, Network Monitoring Tools, Distributed Antenna System, Windows Domain, Active Directory, DNS, Telnet, DHCP, TACACS+ & RADIUS, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Member Servers, Kerio Email, Synology NAS Storage environment

  • Familiarity with various network types including LANs, WANs, WLANs, SANs, and VoIP networks

Role & Responsibilities

Riverstrong is seeking a strong technical Level 3 Senior Network Specialist to join our Support Services Team. This position will provide level three support to our Managed Services IT customers in a remote environment while maintaining excellent communications and technical solutions. The path to success in this role will include a passion for helping people in need, the ability to multitask, collaborate, work with a team, and attention to detail, with technical competencies in infrastructure engineering, high traffic networks, system integrity, end user systems, voice, and firewall. You also must have in-depth knowledge of networks with a focus on high-level design and planning. Our ideal candidate knows how to collaborate on large-scale projects but can also complete assigned tasks on their own. But mostly, we like to have fun while delivering exceptional services for our clients.

Specific Duties​

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain network infrastructure

  • Determine network bandwidth needs and recommend measures to meet those requirements

  • Conduct network modeling and analysis to construct a reliable, high-performance integrated network

  • Program, monitor, backup, and maintain routers, switches, DNS servers, and other network hardware

  • Maintain firewall and perimeter security related to hacking

  • Collaborate with network architects to optimize system performance

  • Run regular tests to assess the security and efficiency of your system

  • Ensure security for web users' accounts and information

  • Architecture, engineering, implementation, and troubleshooting of networks, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, etc. and infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory, servers, networks, VM, AWS, Windows OS, Data Center, SaaS platforms, etc

  • Scripting and automation of services via Powershell, VB, Batch, etc

  • Develop knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, best practices, processes, templates, protocols, and training materials.

  • Keep current of latest technologies and determine the best investments for the business

  • Support the overall mission of delivering technology solutions to our customers as a senior technical engineer
