Insurance Solution Engineer

Role Overview

What is the Role?

Gerent is looking for a Principal Solution Engineer who will lead the Insurance Pre Sales team with a shared vision of bringing the power of cloud computing to enterprises who embrace an industry led and industry delivered mindset. The role reports directly to Gerent’s Practice Lead.

Our Solution Engineers act as enterprise business and solution architects, who actively participate in supporting sales, building customized demo’s, digging deep into requirements, and solution designing with the end goal of delivering value for customers.


● Provide pre-sales leadership to our most influential customers and prospects for Salesforce multi-cloud deals.

● Work closely with customers to understand and capture requirements. Responsible for leading the customer discovery sessions and delivering a compelling vision-to-value story. Leading the customer narrative in pre-sales is key.

● Create an author-user experience and customer-specific solution proposals in collaboration with Sales Directors. Solution designs should support the end state vision.

● Responsible for creating functional demonstrations or POCs using the Salesforce Clouds purchased while supporting the suggested experience flows and solution designs. 

● Continuously learn new features and functionality released within the core products of the practice (Financial Services Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Mulesoft, Tableau, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, AI, Einstein, Data Migration and Integrations)

● Leading and owning creation of both detailed estimates and ROMs with clear assumptions and guard rails. Being able to create a multi-phased estimate is key.

● Collaborate with Sales Director and Industry SMEs to develop the sales messaging and identify key deal-closing criteria

● Attend meetings with Sales Directors and act as a technical expert within the Sales team

● Work closely and collaboratively with customers through the entire pre-sales process.

● Respond to RFIs/RFPs in conjunction with the Sales Director and Industry SME

● Present proposals to customers alongside members of the Sales team

● Partner with Sales Director and Industry SME in delivering an overall successful sales motion


● Previous experience working within as Solution Engineer, Solution Architect, Technical Architect in the Salesforce Ecosystem

● Experience in small, agile, and fast-moving Sales teams

● Technical proficiency with Salesforce - a MUST

● Technical proficiency with Multi-Cloud solutions

● Technical proficiency with Integrations and Data Migrations

● Strong Consulting Skills

● Good understanding of modern systems architecture including on-premise and cloud-based solutions

● Expert knowledge of the complete Sales lifecycle with extensive experience in responding to sales RFIs/RFPs and configuring software demos at very high levels of quality

● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Excellent presentation and customer-facing skills

● Experience and desire to work within a fast-paced, iterative Sales and Development environment

  • Teamwork — Ability to effectively team with peers in a large, matrixed organizations, including significant experience with off-shore teams and delivery

  • Accountability — Must be willing to take ownership of and responsibility for clients success

  • Communication and presentation skills — Must present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Innovation, creativity, and problem-solving —  Should be willing to think outside the box when confronting project challenges, building out practice assets and defining methods to train delivery resources. 

  • Strategy - Must be able to lay out a strategy or roadmap for clients onboarding or amidst a digital transformation anchored in Financial Services use cases
